In this class, you will learn the following:
–Review your manual to your machine
–Familiarize yourself with the basic parts & features of a serge machine (4 needle is taught in class)
–Set up & threading – what type of thread to use & why
–Needle education – why do we use different types
–We will be doing a Serge project (How to sew a snack pouch)

Equipment & Parts
–Sewing Machine (including the power cord and any tools that come with your machine)
–Sewing Machine Manual (if you do not have a printed-out copy, please be prepared to bring a downloaded version)
–Serge Thread (you will need at least 4 Overlock/Serger Thread Cones)
–Machine Presser foot-
–Machine Needles per your machine
Sewing Machine Toolbox (Note: Supply Kits are available at Northwest Sewing Center)
–Scissors for cutting fabric
–Snippers for cutting threads
–Seam ripper

Fabrics
–Any scrap fabric will do for the practice
