Basic Sewing 103 Parts 1 & 2 Afternoon (IN-STORE)

THIS CLASS TAKES PLACE JUNE 17 & JUNE 24
In this class, you will learn the following:
Part 1 –
–Create buttonholes, machine stitch a button; direction of standard buttonholes, opening buttonholes
–Sew on buttons using the machine button features, aligning buttons to buttonholes, cross stitch and standard button applications
Part 2 –
–Sew a Cosmetic Pouch/Bag with lining, buttonhole & button closure; pattern layout, cut and sew/assemble Bag/Pouch
You get 20% off all other materials when you buy your supplies at the shop or over the phone.
What You’ll Need for Class
–Sewing Machine (including any tools that come with your machine)
–Sewing Machine Manual (if you do not have a printed-out copy, please be prepared to bring a downloaded version)
–Thread
–Bobbins for your Machine (note: always check the package of bobbins when purchasing to ensure that your sewing machine model appears for usage)
–Button Hole & Button Pressor Feet
–Machine Needles per your machine; both single & double needles (note: always check the package of needles when purchasing to ensure that your sewing machine model appears for usage)
–Sewing Machine Toolbox – (Note: all can are available at The Sewing Station Learning Center Online Boutique or NWSC):
–Hand Stitch Needles
–Scissors for cutting fabric
–Snippers for cutting threads
–Seam ripper
–Tape measure and/or ruler
–Straight Pins (25)
Fabrics –
–For Part 1: Any scrap fabric will do for stitching out our samples
–For Part 2: two different types of Fat Quarters Fabric
