Beginning Quilting: Daring Spirit Quilt

This class takes place on June 1st, 8th and 29th.

The participants will make the Daring Spirit quilt panel by Villa Rosa Designs. The quilt will be 50” by 68”. We will be learning how to make half square triangles and squaring those blocks. If you want to make this quilt larger, you can add optional borders. Before class, read through the directions to get a basic understanding about the quilt. Write down questions for things you don’t understand

What You’ll Need for Class

–Daring Spirit pattern by Villa Rosa Designs.
–1 yard each of two dark fabrics (outside strips)
–1-1/4 yard light fabric (inside strip) for side, top and bottom borders.
–¾ yard for Binding
–Matching thread
–Sewing machine in working condition,
–9½ X 9½ or larger squared ruler
–Temporary basting glue
–Quilting pins,
–Rotary mat and cutter
–Long acrylic ruler for cutting fabric (6.5 X 24)
–Seam ripper
–Clearly Perfect Slotted Trimmers is helpful but not necessary.

Before class read through the directions to get a basic understanding about the quilt. Write down questions for things you don’t understand.
