Intro to Your Serger
All event dates and times:August 1 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm
All fabric and thread for use in the class will be provided as part of the class fee.
Learn on your own machine – Bring your serger and all its accessories and MANUAL to class and we’ll teach you to use your own machine. Build confidence in your skills – Get plenty of support and practice threading your machine and setting it up for 2, 3 or 4-thread functions. Develop your knowledge – The serger or overlock machine is not a sewing machine. While there are some similarities, there are many differences. Learn the function of your machine and how each setting affects good stitch quality. It is not all about tension. Learn tips and tricks – Take advantage of the experience of our instructor and all that she has learned in the industry and as an owner and user of the serger. Take your sewing skills to the next level and make the serger your new BFF!
Even new sewers can learn to use a serger, but you must have some proficiency and familiarity with a sewing machine in order to get full value from the class.
You must have spent some time with your serger. In other words, you have to have taken it out of the box and made yourself familiar with it.
Experience with basic sewing construction. In other words, you have successfully moved fabric through your sewing machine.
Your machine must be in working order. Because of the pace of the class, we do not have the time to determine if your machine works and troubleshoot any machine problems related to proper function of the machine.
