All event dates and times:
March 18 @ 6:00 pm - 8:30 pm CDTIn Part 1 you will learn the following (2 ½ hours):
–Overall care; cleaning & maintenance
–How to thread & thread education
–Installation & maintenance of needles
–Bobbin care; how to install pre-wound bobbins; how to wind a bobbin; bobbin education
–Machine alignment
–Hooping, placement & general info on stabilizers
–How to use the built-in digitized designs
–Transfer designs from PC to Tabletop Embroidery Machine
–High level view of digitized software (connections to online digitizers and other network material suppliers)
–Class Project will be where we transfer embroidery designs and stitch out a design from software
Suggested pre-request is Basic Sewing 101 or 102 or any basic sewing skills
–Embroidery Machine w/power cord (you will need to bring your machine onsite)
–Machine Manual (if you do not have a physical manual, please bring your downloaded version)
–Laptop Computer w/power cord, USB Key & Embroidery Software must be already loaded
–Embroidery Thread (please bring a variety of embroidery thread colors; we will be practicing lettering & design)
–Bobbins for your Machine with embroidery bobbin thread
–USB Thumb drive that will fit your PC and your embroidery machine
–Marker or Fabric Chalk (we have some onsite if you do not have available)
–Machine Needle
–Iron & Ironing Board (you will be utilizing our equipment onsite)
–Hoop Frames for your machine
Sewing Machine Toolbox – (Note: Supply Kits are available at The Sewing Station Learning Center Online Boutique):
–Hand Stitch Needles
–Scissors for cutting fabric
–Snippers for cutting threads (specifically embroidery curved Snippers)
–Seam ripper
–Tape measure or ruler
–Straight Pins (25)
Fabrics
–Any cotton fabrics for testing embroidery (approximately ¼ yard to ½ yard)
–Light Weight Tear Away Stabilizer
–Medium Weight Felt Backing Cut Away Stabilizer
