SUMMARY:Beginning Quilting: Fur Babies (IN-STORE)
DESCRIPTION:This class takes place May 17\, 24\, 31\, & June 7 from 3pm to 5:30pm. \nClass participants will make the adorable Fur Babies quilt from Double Focus by Donna Robertson & Fran Morgan. This beginner quilting class teaches foundational skills\, from rotary cutting to binding\, to create your first quilt top. Designed for those new to quilting or those wishing to refresh their skills. The course covers accurate cutting and piecing\, fabric selection\, pressing\, and machine quilting techniques. You can expect to complete a lap-size quilt top in class. Specific piecing techniques for this class include half square triangles\, snow balled blocks and strip piecing. DESCRIPTION:Take your sewing skills to the next level and make the serger your new BFF! This 3-hour class is a must have for sewing knits\, giving a professional finish to all your sewing projects\, and will take the mystery and frustration out of threading and operating a basic serger. You’ll get plenty of support & practice threading your machine and setting it up for 2\, 3 or 4-thread functions.      \nAll fabric and thread for use in the class will be provided as part of the class fee. \nView the Flyer \n			\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n			\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				What You Need for Class \n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				–Serger with all original equipment\, owner’s manual (original or printed pdf). It has been stored in a climate-controlled environment and be confirmed to be in working condition. Confirmed working condition means the following: a. Machine has ALWAYS been stored in a climate-controlled environment. It is clean both internally and externally. The cords are in good condition\, not frayed for cracked. You have all of the machine’s parts required for proper machine function. Your manual will have a list of the parts provided with your machine. Use that as a check list. When threaded and run\, the machine will create a thread chain. ***Sergers not meeting the above criteria may be refused at discretion of the instructor upon arrival. Instructor is not responsible for evaluation of serger in need of service. Serger must be fully functional upon arrival.  \n–Needles that are the correct size for your machine. Your manual will indicate the correct size of needle used in your machine. You must have two needles in your machine and at least two spare needles on hand in case of breakage.  \n–Screw drivers or other tools needed for changing needles and adjusting your machine (changing needle plates) if required.  \n–Tweezers\, thread snips or scissors\, and a magnifying class and small flashlight if either is needed for you to see the needle or looper holes on your machine.  \n–Writing materials for taking notes. Your cell phone for taking reference photos or videos during class.  \n–Transparent tape and a very fine tip marker if you want to label your machine for future reference.
