Beginning Quilting: Quick Irish Christmas Quilt (IN-STORE)

This class takes place in the store on: September 14, 21, & 28 from 3:00pm to 5:30 pm & September 30 from 6:00pm to 8:30pm

The participants will make the Irish Christmas quilt from Quick Christmas by Fran Morgan. The quilt will be 39-1/2” by 56-1/2”. We will be learning how to make half square triangles and squaring those blocks, also stitch and flip corners. If you want to make this quilt larger, follow the Irish Christmas portion in the pattern book. Or contact Rita or Linda to help you. The quilt in the store is made twice as big and you will need 2 yards of each color.

What You’ll Need for Class

–Pattern Book: Quick Christmas 3 Yard Quilts
–Sewing machine in working condition
–Three/one yard fabrics, the pattern calls for cutting your binding 1-1/4” wide, if you prefer your binding to be cut 2-1/2” wide then purchase 1-1/3 yds. of the #3 fabric
–9½ X 9½ or larger squared ruler
–basting glue
–matching thread,
–quilting pins
–rotary mat and cutter
–long acrylic ruler for cutting fabric (6.5 X 24)
–seam ripper

Before class read through the directions to a basic understanding about the quilt. Write down questions for things you don’t understand
