Quilt Binding Techniques (IN-STORE)

Your quilt isn’t truly finished until it has that perfect, professional-looking edge! This fun, beginner-friendly workshop is your chance to master the final step: binding. In this informative 4-hour class, you’ll gain the confidence to wrap up your masterpieces beautifully.
We’ll start with the most popular method, the French Double Fold binding, giving you clean, durable edges you’ll be proud of. But we won’t stop there! Get ready to explore exciting extras and conquer the tricky parts:
–Customized Finishes: Discover how to add eye-catching extras like a flange (a skinny border), piping (a neat cord), and even how to make color changes at the corners for a unique look.

What You Need for Class
–A fully quilted quilt, untrimmed. While any size can be worked on, a baby or throw sized quilt will be most manageable for most quilters during this class.
–Fabric for binding strips, Do not cut fabric, this will be covered in class.
–Thread and filled bobbin to coordinate with binding fabric and one additional bobbin in a color which contrasts with the backing of your quilt
–Straight pins or Wonder Clips™
–Rotary cutter , long ruler and the largest square ruler you have
–Seam Ripper and sewing snips or scissors
–Magnetic Seam Guide, Painters or Washi Tape, Seam Guage Ruler
–Sewing machine* in good working order, including:
–All purpose foot
–Walking foot
–Stitch in the Ditch Foot
–Left Edge Top Stitch Foot or Bi-level Foot
–Machine needle, size 90/14
–Extension table if you have it
* Note, it is best to bring the machine you plan to do your binding on to class. You will be taught techniques to allow you to use your machine and accessory feet to create flawless binding.
