Beginning Quilting: Fur Babies (IN-STORE)

This class takes place May 17, 24, 31, & June 7 from 3pm to 5:30pm.
Class participants will make the adorable Fur Babies quilt from Double Focus by Donna Robertson & Fran Morgan. This beginner quilting class teaches foundational skills, from rotary cutting to binding, to create your first quilt top. Designed for those new to quilting or those wishing to refresh their skills. The course covers accurate cutting and piecing, fabric selection, pressing, and machine quilting techniques. You can expect to complete a lap-size quilt top in class. Specific piecing techniques for this class include half square triangles, snow balled blocks and strip piecing. We will explore various ways that these methods can be undertaken.

–Pattern Book: Fur Babies from Double Focus Three Yard Quilts by Donna Robertson and Fran Morgan
–One yard of light fabric for background #1
–One yard of fabric for Cats #2
–One yard of contrasting fabric for hearts #3
NOTE: The pattern calls for cutting your binding 1-1/4” wide, if you prefer a more durable binding, your binding strips need to be cut 2-1/2” wide and you will need to purchase 1-1/3 yds. of the #3 fabric.
